In addition to a competitive marketplace of lenders, OwnUp’s platform offers access to mortgage comparison tools, dedicated mortgage counseling, pre-approval letters, and more.
OwnUp has serviced more than 4,500 borrowers through its free platform. Its network of dedicated Home Advisors provides a customer-service boost to an industry that can be confusing and overwhelming for novice homebuyers who are looking for extra support during their home shopping experience.

Audience

OwnUp’s platform targets two primary audiences:
  • First-time or novice homebuyers who don’t know much about the mortgage industry, but are simultaneously looking for the best rate and a trustworthy process.
  • Repeat homebuyers who are more familiar with the real estate process, but are looking for a way to simplify their experience while finding the best deal.
Visitors to the OwnUp site are also targeted organically via their own Google search queries, and may find their way to the website through one of three primary information hubs:

OwnUp’s original website was hard coded by a product-based developer team. At the time, any changes to the website – including changes not related to the product infrastructure – had to be made by the DevOps team, creating barriers toproject completion on the marketing side of the business. As a result, time-to-market with any website update was slow and tedious.
Eventually, the company moved the site to a CMS to alleviate the workload for the in-house developers. However, the CMS was slow, outdated, and couldn’t support the business needs. It was clear that a better CMS was needed in addition to a dedicated team to manage marketing tasks, workflow, and website development.

Priorities and Goals

We had several goals for OwnUp, including the following:
  • To select a CMS that resolved the speed issues associated with the previous website.
  • To provide a platform that allowed the client to make updates to their own website without running into roadblocks.
  • To continuously increase organic traffic and lead generation.

Solutions

To alleviate some of the workflow painpoints OwnUp was experiencing, we went through an extensive research process to find a CMS that could handle all needs of the business. After landing on Sanity as a CMS partner, we successfully migrated the website and continued to help with AB testing and search engine optimization (SEO) to increase organic traffic.
